| Bees Earn 6-3 Home Win | Soggy conditions did not keep Vesutan and Nagasaki from playing their scheduled game.
The Vesutan Bees defeated the Nagasaki Stars, 6-3, in Western League action at Fukuoka Stadium. Vesutan pitcher Art Marx had a standout performance. Marx yielded 3 runs over 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 10. His record improves to 10-9.
Kazukuni Morinaga, who finished 3rd in the WL in triples with 9 in 1960, contributed to the Vesutan win with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"We did a lot of things right," said Morinaga.
Nagasaki's current losing streak is now 5 games.
