| Falcons Lose, 5-3, at Konohana Stadium | Kinboshi first baseman Sueo Shimabukuro contributed significantly to his team's 5-3 win over the Fukuoka Falcons. Shimabukuro, who finished 3rd in the WL in stolen bases with 9 in 1953, went 4 for 4 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Kites. Ryusuke Maeda got credit for the win, improving to 10-10. He allowed 3 runs on 7 hits in 6.1 innings. With the victory, the Kites upped their record to 51-48.
Hiroji Orido, who led the WL in doubles with 38 in 1960, helped out the Kinboshi cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the catcher drew 1 walk.
"See ball, hit ball. When I think too much, that's when I get in trouble," Shimabukuro told the Kinboshi Chronicle.
