| Big Day for Sugiura as Falcons Down Kites, 8-5 | The Fukuoka Falcons powered past the Kinboshi Kites, 8-5, at Konohana Stadium. Ayato Sugiura provided some of the pop. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. The winning pitcher was Isaburo Muraoka. He's now 11-6. He went 8 innings, allowing 5 runs on 10 hits for the Falcons. The Falcons have now won 4 straight.
With Fukuoka leading 2-1 in the top of the fifth, Sugiura hit a curveball from Akiho Komori for a 3-run home run. It was his 20th home run of the season and put the Falcons ahead, 5-1.
