| Sailors Lose Late, 5-3 | The Kobe Bulls and Osaka Sailors completed their game despite the rain.
Kakuya Izumi, who is a three-time All-Star, had a strong outing for the Kobe Bulls against the Osaka Sailors at Matsunoki Stadium. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-3 win. Kobe reliever Shinya Kawakami picked up the win, upping his record to 4-2. Haruki Ogawa was saddled with the loss.
Kobe went in front, 5-3, on Tadahisa Ryu's 3rd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Ryu hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Osaka pitcher Haruki Ogawa visibly perturbed.
"We're happy, our fans are happy," Izumi told a Kobe Times reporter. "I hope you folks in the media are happy, too."
The win makes Kobe 68-35.
