| Falcons Win, 6-5, Versus Vesutan | The Fukuoka Falcons withstood a fine game by Vesutan first baseman Shougo Iwai at Fukuoka Stadium, to upend the Bees, 6-5. Iwai was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Shuuji Ishii earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 5-4. Tatsuhito Watanabe closed out the game, earning his 3rd save.
In the bottom of the eighth, Fukuoka left fielder Ayato Sugiura gave his team the lead. With two out and the bases loaded, Fang hit his 14th double of the year. Vesutan pitcher Taku Doi surrendered it. With that, the Falcons jumped in front, 6-5.
"Enjoyed this one," Sugiura told the Fukuoka Daily News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
Fukuoka raised its record to 63-41 with the win.
