Kites Stop Sailors, 3-1 | Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Kinboshi Kites and Osaka Sailors.
Osaka got a decent performance from pitcher Kentarou Takenaka, but it wasn't enough to beat the Kinboshi Kites. Kinboshi won the Kotei Stadium contest, 3-1. Takenaka threw 7.1 innings allowing 3 runs for the losing team. Kannon Kato earned the save, his 4th, for the Kites.
In the top of the second, Kinboshi second baseman Kitahachi Masuda whacked a sinker to left-center for a run-scoring double. His 13th double of the season put the Kites in front, 1-0.
"Banging out wins is what it's all about," said Masuda.
The Kites raised their record to 53-41. | |
