| Akamine Powers Falcons to 10-8 Win | Tsuruo Akamine impressed in the 10-8 Fukuoka win over Vesutan. Akamine, who is tied for 5th in the WL in RBI with 70, went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Sadakuno Ikeda came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record now stands at 7-3. With the win, Fukuoka goes to 62-40, while the Bees fall to 48-54.
Fukuoka took the lead, 10-8, on Ayato Sugiura's 24th home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Vesutan pitcher Kiyoshi Inouye in the bottom of the eighth.
"Good win for us," said Sugiura. "Now we'll focus on the next one."
