| Falcons Curb Bulls, 3-1 | The Fukuoka Falcons used a great performance from Rei Matsumura, who is tied for 2nd in the WL with a 0.86 WHIP, to beat the Kobe Bulls, 3-1, at Fukuoka Stadium. Matsumura, the winner, moves to 11-6. He threw 7.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 10 and giving up 6 walks. Fukuoka raised its record to 54-47 with the win.
Ayato Sugiura, who is tied for 3rd in the WL in extra base hits with 38, chipped in a solo home run for Fukuoka in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 1 run batted in.
"Rei was throwing with conviction," said Fukuoka manager Kamlyn Kadota.
