| Stars Knock Off Kites at Konohana Stadium | The Nagasaki Stars picked up a win at Konohana Stadium, dropping the Kinboshi Kites, 5-2. Takashi Masuda, who is tied for 9th in the WL in wins with 7, was the difference-maker. The Western League-leading Stars are 52-38.
With two out in the top of the ninth, Ienari Fujimori had a game-changing hit. The Stars second baseman slammed a 2-run single off Kannon Kato, making the score 5-2, Nagasaki.
"We put it together and came out with the win," Fujimori said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
