| Sailors Clip Kites, 4-3 | Kotei Stadium was host to some intense drama.
The Osaka Sailors beat the Kinboshi Kites, 4-3, at Kotei Stadium. Masahiko Yamamoto, who is tied for 9th in the WL in stolen bases with 16, starred for Osaka. He was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times. The win gives the Sailors a record of 33-63.
The Sailors were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth inning, when 25-year old second baseman Tomohito Takahashi landed a big blow. He turned a 1-1 slider from Matoba Miwa into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent the Kotei Stadium denizens into a frenzy and sent the Sailors home with a thrilling 4-3 win.
"This place was jumping at the end," Takahashi said.
