| Yamamoto, Falcons Get Tidy 3-0 Win Over Nagasaki | The Fukuoka Falcons picked up a win at Nagasaki Prefecture Stadium, knocking off the Nagasaki Stars, 3-0. Starting pitcher Minoru Yamamoto played a key role in the triumph. Kijuro Fukushima closed the game out for Fukuoka, earning his 9th save. The second-place Stars dropped to 46-38.
Yamamoto delivered a quality start for Fukuoka. The 5-foot-11 right-hander allowed no earned runs on 5 hits over 8.1 innings of work.
"Minoru's stuff looked really, really crisp," said Horace Jackson, the Falcons manager.
