| Kites Get Defeated by Bees, 9-3 | The Vesutan Bees beat the Kinboshi Kites, 9-3, at Fukuoka Stadium. Vesutan first baseman Shougo Iwai had an outstanding performance. He went 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The winner was Art Marx, who threw 103 pitches over 6.2 innings. The left-hander was charged with 2 runs on 5 hits. The Bees sit in 4th place in the Western League with a record of 41-39.
The Bees got a big at-bat from center fielder Tomeo Okinaka, who in the bottom of the fourth hit a 2-run triple. It was his 4th triple of the season and put the Bees on top, 4-1.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Okinaka.
