| 3-1 Loss Deepens Philadelphia Funk | The Atlanta Copperheads picked up a win at Peachtree Stadium, downing the Philadelphia Keystones, 3-1. On the mound for Atlanta was right-hander Marco Middleton, who played a pivotal role in the win. Buddy Thomas earned the save, his 6th. The last-place Keystones have dropped 6 straight games.
In the bottom of the seventh, Atlanta center fielder Jay Hunter hit a run-scoring single to right-center field. The clutch hit made it 2-1, Copperheads.
