| Chiefs Sneak Past Miners, 8-7 | The Chicago Chiefs topped the Pittsburgh Miners, 8-7, with youngster Tom Spruill playing a key role. Spruill went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Chiefs in the win. The Miners, now 19-21, have lost 5 in a row.
