| Suns Earn Late 5-4 Win | The Los Angeles Suns picked up a win at Wilshire Park, dropping the Boston Minutemen, 5-4, in 12 innings. Pete Meissner, who finished 3rd in the FA in strikeouts with 209 in 1971, was the difference-maker. Los Angeles reliever Jimmy Blair picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Les Snyder took the loss. The win puts Los Angeles at 21-12 this season.
The Suns got a clutch hit from catcher Ralph Bailey. In the bottom of the 12th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Suns.
