| Falcons Nipped by Sailors, 5-4 | The Osaka Sailors beat the Fukuoka Falcons, 5-4. Osaka pitcher and Hitachi, Japan, native Takahiko Kurata led the way. Yukinobu Nobuhara was credited with the save, his 1st in 3 tries. The victory makes Osaka 30-59.
Osaka won the game in part because of Satoshi Hino. The left fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Sailors ahead, 5-2. For the game, Hino had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"I know we have our doubters," said Fukuoka manager Kamlyn Kadota. "But I still have high hopes for this team." | |
