| Sailors Suffer 4-1 Setback | Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Kobe Bulls and Osaka Sailors.
Riding the 2-hit performance of the five-time All-Star Jouta Hayashida, the Kobe Bulls stopped the Osaka Sailors, 4-1. Kobe starter Roku Yamakawa was credited with the win after throwing 79 pitches over 6 innings. His record now stands at 8-6.
With Kobe leading 1-0 in the top of the third, Hayashida hit a sinker from Marty Carroll for a 3-run home run. It was his 27th home run of the season and put the Bulls ahead, 4-0.
Hayashida told a Kobe Times reporter that he was "very happy" with the win.
At 58-30, Kobe is in first place in the Western League.
