The Osaka Sailors beat the Kobe Bulls, 5-4, at Kotei Stadium. Osaka catcher Kousei Ota had an outstanding performance. He was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Choei Teramoto earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. He upped his record to 1-2. The win puts Osaka at 29-52.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, Ota hit a fastball from Kiyomitsu Wada for a run-scoring single. The Sailors, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"We couldn't have scripted it any better," Ota said in his postgame press conference.
