| Falcons Claim Late Win | The Nagasaki Stars went down to defeat to Rei Matsumura and his Fukuoka teammates. The final score was 3-1, in favor of the Falcons. Matsumura got the win, improving to 15-1. He gave up 5 hits and walked 2 over 9 innings. He allowed 1 run. Fukuoka bumps their record to 48-34 with the win.
Fukuoka got a game-changing hit from Ray Auerbach. The shortstop blasted a 3-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a winner.
