The Kinboshi Kites beat the Vesutan Bees, 5-3. Kinboshi pitcher and Mihara, Japan, native Keiji Tamura led the way. Tamura picked up the win for Kinboshi, going 8.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 2 hits. He now sports a record of 10-5.

Kinboshi went up, 5-0, on Yutaka Kobayashi's 8th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Kobayashi hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Vesutan pitcher Art Marx muttering to himself.

In postgame comments to the Kinboshi Chronicle, Kobayashi said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."

With the win, Kinboshi has a record of 42-28. Vesutan falls to 32-33.
