| Bulls Defeat Sailors, 5-4 | The game between Kobe and Osaka is in the books, despite a little rain.
The Kobe Bulls turned back the Osaka Sailors, 5-4, at Matsunoki Stadium. Takuo Yagi, in particular, had a fine performance. He went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The winning pitcher was Arata Komatsu. He's now 10-3. He went 7 innings, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits for the Bulls. Picking up his 11th save was fan favorite Shinya Kawakami.
The Bulls got a big hit from catcher Kouyuu Kira. In the bottom of the seventh, Kira smacked a 2-run double off Osaka pitcher Kinnosuke Shimabukuro. It was his 10th double of the season. Suddenly, the Bulls were ahead, 5-4.
"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Kira.
Kobe is sailing along at 52-22.
