| Kobe Dispatched, 4-2, by Fukuoka | The Fukuoka Falcons got a good effort from starter Rei Matsumura in defeating the Kobe Bulls at Matsunoki Stadium. The final score was 4-2. The winning pitcher was Matsumura, now 12-1. He tossed 9 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 6. Fukuoka goes to 41-27, Kobe to 47-22.
In the top of the 6th, second baseman Shoshichi Hanzawa gave Fukuoka the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The Falcons had been trailing 2-1, but the two-out single off Kobe pitcher Arata Komatsu changed that -- and Fukuoka went on to win.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Hanzawa said.
