| Bulls Spill Bees, 4-3 | Kobe pitcher Tatsuharu Oto did his part in helping his team beat the Vesutan Bees, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The win was credited to 27-year old right-handed pitcher Kiyomitsu Wada in relief. His record improves to 4-5. Haruki Ogawa took the loss. Kobe, at 30-31, occupies 5th place in the Western League.
Shinpei Abe, who finished 5th in the WL in stolen bases with 16 last year, had a direct impact on the outcome. Abe contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Kobe up, 4-3.
After the game, Kobe manager Joe Davis applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
