| Yamamoto 3-for-4 to Ignite Kites Offense | Ayahito Yamamoto helped his team muscle past the Fukuoka Falcons, 7-4. In the game, the Kinboshi shortstop was 3 for 4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Ryusuke Maeda, who finished 2nd in the EL in strikeouts with 155 in 1954, was the winner. He's now 5-7. The loser was Ryunosuke Saito. The Western League-leading Kites have a record of 34-24.
Kinboshi used a well-timed hit by Taketoshi Shimabukuro to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Kites ahead, 3-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Shimabukuro said.
