| Kites Suffer 2-0 Home Defeat | The skies opened up and the rain fell at Konohana Stadium.
The Kobe Bulls topped the Kinboshi Kites, 2-0, with right fielder Oscar Abbott playing a big role. Abbott went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk for the Bulls in the win. Kobe reliever Norm Evans picked up the win, raising his record to 3-1. Akiho Komori was tagged with the loss.
Kobe took a 2-0 lead on Abbott's 4th home run of the season. The solo home run, which he hit off Joe Neff in the top of the sixth, propelled Kobe to the win.
"Not too many highlights on our side," said losing manager Frank Moore.
Kobe leads the Western League by 2½ games. | |
