| Kites Topple Stars, 7-3 | The Kinboshi Kites and Nagasaki Stars completed their game despite the rain.
The Kinboshi Kites defeated the Nagasaki Stars, 7-3, at Konohana Stadium. Kinboshi shortstop Yamahiko Hirata had a superb performance. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Kinboshi, at 31-24, holds down third place in the Western League.
Toki Kobayashi chipped in a 2-run home run for Kinboshi in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"Winning is seldom easy in this league," said Hirata.
