Falcons Prevail, 7-6, Over Kinboshi | Soggy conditions did not keep Fukuoka and Kinboshi from playing their scheduled game.
Despite a great performance by Kinboshi first baseman Sueo Shimabukuro, the Fukuoka Falcons defeated the Kites by the score of 7-6 at Fukuoka Stadium. Shimabukuro went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Tadaatsu Miki went 5 innings for Fukuoka to pick up the win. The right-hander was charged with 5 runs. He scattered 8 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 0. His record improves to 7-2. Kijuro Fukushima closed the game out for Fukuoka, earning his 6th save.
Fukuoka center fielder Ryokan Nakazawa contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a slider to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 19th hit of the season and put the Falcons ahead, 7-5.
"We'll take this win and move on," said Nakazawa.
