| Yoshinaga Baffles Osaka Batters | Goose eggs were the order of the day for the Osaka Sailors as starter Naoto Yoshinaga shut them out, 5-0, at Kotei Stadium. The Nagasaki pitcher struck out 5 and walked 1 while allowing 3 hits.
"Yoshinaga was good but he wasn't flawless," Osaka manager Heikichi Kawasaki said. "We had a few opportunities to make something happen and we didn't do it. Not to take anything away from Nagasaki, but this is on us."
