| Bees Lick Falcons, 4-2 | Not everyone stuck through the 42-minute rain delay, but those who did went home happy.
Masatoshi Sakai, who led the EL in wins with 15 in 1962, was locked in. The right-hander led the Vesutan Bees to a 4-2 win against the Fukuoka Falcons at Vesutan Stadium. The win went to Toshimichi Yamamoto in relief, making him now 2-2. Shuuji Ishii took the loss for Fukuoka. Tadataka Ohira, who is tied for 8th in the WL in saves with 2, nailed down the save.
In the bottom of the seventh, Vesutan right fielder Yuuichirou Isobe hit a run-scoring single to left-center field. The clutch hit made it 3-2, Bees.
"Masatoshi had good arm action, good stuff," said Vesutan manager Jack Fletchings.
The 5th-place Bees lifted their record to 23-32.
