| Sailors Beat Stars, 4-3, at Kotei Stadium | The Osaka Sailors got a rain-soaked win over the Nagasaki Stars.
Yukiharu Goto, who is a two-time All-Star, was locked in. The right-hander led the Osaka Sailors to a 4-3 win against the Nagasaki Stars at Kotei Stadium. Goto, now 3-2, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 3, walking 1, and allowing 1 run.
Yoshio Ishikawa, who is tied for 7th in the WL in total bases with 106, chipped in a 2-run home run for Osaka in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"I like the vibe in the clubhouse after a win," said Ishikawa. "It sure beats the alternative."
The win elevated the Sailors to 25-23.
