| Ishii Powers Bees Offense | Though the conditions were not ideal, the Vesutan Bees and Kobe Bulls came back from a rain delay to finish their game.
Due in large part to left fielder Susumu Ishii, the Vesutan Bees sunk the Kobe Bulls, 9-4. Ishii went 4-4 with a home run, a triple, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs. Kouichi Hiramatsu nailed down his 1st save.
Shougo Iwai, who finished 2nd in the WL in doubles with 36 in 1960, aided the Vesutan cause with a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth. For the game, the first baseman went 1 for 3 with a double and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs.
"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Ishii, "one at-bat at a time."
After today's action, Vesutan sits at 20-23, while Kobe falls to 20-25.
