Falcons Need Extra Frames to Get Past Stars
The Fukuoka Falcons in 10 innings beat the Nagasaki Stars, 2-1, at Fukuoka Stadium. Starting pitcher Rei Matsumura was a major factor, holding his opponents in check all game. The win was credited to Tatsuhito Watanabe in relief. His record improves to 4-0. Dick Champ took the loss. The Falcons win now puts them at 33-18.

The Falcons got a clutch hit from right fielder Tsuruo Akamine. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Falcons.

"I'm proud of the way we played. It's fun playing baseball like that," said Falcons manager Kamlyn Kadota.
