| Osaka Topples Fukuoka, 2-1 | The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of Osaka fans at Kotei Stadium.
The Osaka Sailors got a magnificent performance from pitcher Genpaku Matsumoto, who muffled the Fukuoka offense en route to a tight, 2-1 Sailors win at Kotei Stadium. Matsumoto yielded 1 run over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 1-2.
Osaka took control in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and a runner on 2nd, Sotatsu Sato hit a run-scoring single to make it 2-1, Sailors.
Said Fukuoka manager Kamlyn Kadota: "They pitched the heck out of us."
