| Bulls Rally to Beat Sailors, 3-2 | The excitement level at Matsunoki Stadium reached a crescendo in the final at-bat.
The Kobe Bulls picked up a win at Matsunoki Stadium, knocking off the Osaka Sailors, 3-2. On the mound for Kobe was right-hander Tatsuharu Oto. He played a key role in the triumph. Oto, who finished 2nd in the WL in innings pitched with 217.2 in 1961, went the distance for Kobe. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits.
Tango Kurokawa was the walk-off hero for Kobe. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Bulls left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"There is no easy way to lose when you're doing everything you can to win games," said Osaka manager Bill Sherrill.
The current losing streak for Osaka has reached 5 games.
