Falcons Beat Kites, 3-0 | Fukuoka turned a fine outing from starter Sadakazu Minami into a victory over the Kinboshi Kites at Konohana Stadium. The final score was 3-0. Kijuro Fukushima wrapped it up, recording his 5th save. The win for the Falcons raised their record to 22-15.
Fukuoka used a well-timed hit by Meguru Morioka to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Falcons ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Fukuoka manager Horace Jackson. | |
