| Kites Lose at Home, 6-3 | Spirited fans greeted the Kinboshi Kites for their clash with the Fukuoka Falcons.
The Fukuoka Falcons beat the Kinboshi Kites, 6-3, at Konohana Stadium. Ayato Sugiura, who is tied for 2nd in the WL in bases on balls with 24, starred for Fukuoka. He went 2 for 2 with a home run, a double, and 3 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Iwao Yamamoto, who finished 5th in the WL in saves with 15 in 1969, was the winner. He's now 5-2. The loser was Kyuso Ikeda. Tatsuhito Watanabe recorded his 1st save for Fukuoka.
Fukuoka used the timely hitting of Hirobumi Takahashi to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Falcons on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Fukuoka manager Kamlyn Kadota commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
The win hiked the Fukuoka record to 22-19.
