Sailors Bridle Kites, 3-1 | The Osaka Sailors got a magnificent effort from pitcher Takahiko Kurata, who kept Kinboshi hitters in check en route to a 3-1 Sailors win at Kotei Stadium. Tom Drill earned the save, his 3rd, for the Sailors. The third-place Sailors are 16-14.
The Sailors got a big at-bat from first baseman Kikuichi Shirai. For the game, Shirai went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Osaka a 2-0 lead.
