Vesutan turned a good performance from Art Marx into a 3-2 triumph over the Kobe Bulls at Fukuoka Stadium. Marx, the winner, moves to 3-3. He threw 5 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 1 walk.
Shougo Iwai hit a run-scoring double off Gunji Matsuda in the bottom of the fifth, which put the Bees in front, 3-2. In addition to the double, Iwai had 1 single, while going 2 for 3.
"Art just settled in and did what he does," said Vesutan manager Jim Harper.
After today's action, Vesutan sits at 12-19; Kobe slips to 14-18.
