| Falcons Keep Streak Alive with Late Rally | Fukuoka got an elite performance from starting pitcher Toshiyoshi Sakata in securing a 3-1 decision over the Nagasaki Stars. Rei Suga, who finished 5th in the WL in saves with 12 in 1960, nailed down the save. Fukuoka has run its win streak to 4 in a row.
Meguru Morioka aided the Fukuoka cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh. For the game, the catcher went 2-4 with 2 singles.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Fukuoka skipper Horace Jackson.
