| Stars Earn Win with Late Rally | The Nagasaki Stars picked up a win at Nagasaki Prefecture Stadium, knocking off the Fukuoka Falcons, 4-3. On the mound for Nagasaki was right-hander Togai Ota. He played a key role in the triumph. Nagasaki goes to 19-17, Fukuoka to 23-13.
In the bottom of the ninth, with two out and the game tied, 3-3, 26-year old catcher Botan Wada won it for Nagasaki. With the bases loaded, Wada hit a 0-2 fastball from Tatsuhito Watanabe for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 4-3 win.
"Now that's my kind of ending," said a smiling Wada.
