| Sailors Drop Bulls, 7-2 | Wet weather did not postpone the Osaka-Kobe ballgame.
The Osaka Sailors racked up a win at Matsunoki Stadium, bumping off the Kobe Bulls, 7-2. Takahiko Kurata, who started for Osaka, pitched effectively for his team. Kurata, now 4-1, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Kousei Ota? The Osaka catcher had a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth inning to put the Sailors on top, 2-0. For the game, Ota had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Ota told the Osaka Times.
Kobe's current losing streak is now 4 games.
