| Sailors Earn 6-2 Home Win | The Osaka Sailors defeated the Vesutan Bees, 6-2, in Western League action at Kotei Stadium. Osaka pitcher Atsuhiro Smith had a standout performance. At 14-13, the Sailors find themselves in 4th place in the Western League.
In the bottom of the third inning, third baseman Kikuichi Shirai had a 2-run double for Osaka. It was his 11th double of the season and put the Sailors on top, 2-1.
"Atsuhiro had good arm action, good stuff," said Osaka manager Motoshige Aoki.
