| Sailors Fall to Falcons Late | Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Fukuoka Falcons and Osaka Sailors.
The Fukuoka Falcons got a stellar effort from pitcher Rei Matsumura, helping Fukuoka score a win over the visiting Osaka Sailors, 4-2. At 22-12, the Falcons claim first place in the Western League.
Fukuoka took the lead, 4-2, on Yasuhiko Kawasaki's 13th home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Osaka pitcher Haruki Ogawa in the bottom of the eighth.
Kawasaki was taciturn after the game. "A win's a win," he said.
