The Nagasaki Stars downed the Osaka Sailors, 5-3, at Kotei Stadium. Isao Matsuda led the way, going 3-for-4 for Nagasaki. Nishiki Teshima stitched up the save, his 3rd. Osaka falls to 13-13.

Matsuda had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 1-2 splitter from Haruki Ogawa, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Stars a 4-3 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Matsuda.

"I was able to square up some pitches," said Matsuda.
