| Sailors Jolt Bees, 7-5, with Late Rally | The Osaka Sailors defeated the Vesutan Bees, 7-5, at Fukuoka Stadium. Osaka pinch hitter Itsuma Kaneda had a superb performance. He was 1 for 1 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The Bees drop to 4-9, as their fitful start to the 1962 campaign continues.
Kaneda had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 2-1 splitter from Haruki Ogawa, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Sailors a 7-5 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Kaneda.
"Anytime you're seeing it well, it's a good feeling," Kaneda told the Osaka Observer.
