| Falcons Victorious at Kinboshi, 8-3 | The rain came, as predicted, but the Fukuoka Falcons and Kinboshi Kites were able to complete their ballgame.
Fukuoka right-hander Ennosuke Yamamoto pitched his team to victory over the Kinboshi Kites at Konohana Stadium. The final score was 8-3. Yamamoto, the winner, moves to 1-1. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 4 walks. The save was credited to Kijuro Fukushima, his 3rd.
The Falcons got a big hit from first baseman Kazuaki Mukai. Facing Kinboshi pitcher Teruhiko Igarashi in the top of the sixth, Mukai pounded a 3-run home run to right. His 2nd home run of the season put the Falcons ahead, 8-1.
"We didn't pitch good, and when you don't pitch good, you lose," said Kinboshi manager Kaita Kurosawa.
Fukuoka is off to a hot start at 9-4.
