| Fukuoka Downed, 5-4, by Bees | Fukuoka wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Isaburo Muraoka, falling to the Vesutan Bees, 5-4. Muraoka threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Hanshiro Migita, the winner, is now 1-0. He struck out 6 and walked 1 over 7.2 innings, while allowing 3 runs on 7 hits. The save went to Kiyoshi Inouye, his 3rd this season.
Kyozo Omori came through with a big-time hit for Vesutan. The pinch hitter smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 5-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"We need to keep playing good baseball," Omori told the Vesutan Citizen.
The loss has the Falcons at 8-4.
