| Fukuoka Pins 7-2 Loss on Bulls | The Fukuoka Falcons picked up a win at Matsunoki Stadium, downing the Kobe Bulls, 7-2. On the mound for Fukuoka was right-hander Rei Matsumura, who played a pivotal role in the win. Fukuoka, with the win, is 8-3.
Had Tsuruo Akamine not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Akamine hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-1, in favor of the Falcons.
"Nervous? No," said Matsumura. "It was my time to shine."
