| Stars Win Nail-Biter | There was never a dull moment in an extra-length game between the Nagasaki Stars and the Kinboshi Kites.
The Nagasaki Stars, despite a fine performance by Kinboshi pitcher Bill Baker, grabbed a 3-2 win in 11 innings at Konohana Stadium. Baker allowed 1 run over 7.1 innings. Kinboshi drops to 4-6.
Nagasaki needed the clutch hitting of Yoritomo Toyota to seal the deal. The left fielder swatted a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Stars on top, 3-2. For the game, Toyota had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"The other side played a good game," said Kinboshi manager Frank Moore. "You tip your cap to them."
