| Stars Fall Short, 3-2, at Kinboshi | Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Kinboshi Kites got the win.
The Kinboshi Kites converted a terrific effort from starter Yasuhiko Hidaka into a win over the Nagasaki Stars at Konohana Stadium. The Kites won the game by a final score of 3-2. Hidaka got the win, improving to 1-0. He gave up 7 hits and walked 2 over 8 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Josuke Fujimori picked up the save, his 2nd.
With two out in the bottom of the seventh, Minato Kokubunji had a game-changing hit. The Kites right fielder slammed a 2-run single off Takashi Masuda, making the score 3-0, Kinboshi.
"Yasuhiko's a gamer," said Kinboshi manager Kaita Kurosawa. "Glad he's on our side."
Kinboshi goes to 5-3 with the win.
