Billy Rutherford pitched a gem to lead Kobe to victory over the Vesutan Bees, 2-1, in 14 innings. The Bulls, now 5-2, have been playing some good baseball.

Takuo Yagi's at-bat with one out in the top of the 14th was critical. The Kobe shortstop hit a sacrifice fly, to put his team on top, 2-1. Runs were at a premium and this one was huge.

"Billy did a tremendous job," said Kobe manager Shojiro Tasaka.
