| Urushihara goes 3-for-4, Leads Sailors to Win | Osaka catcher Kojiro Urushihara played a vital role in his team's 8-3 conquest of Kobe. He was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for Osaka. The win has Osaka at 1-1.
With Osaka leading 1-0 in the top of the fourth, Urushihara hit a cutter from Arata Komatsu for a 2-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Sailors ahead, 3-0.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Bill Sherrill said.
