| Stars Use Late Score to Top Falcons, 2-1 | The Nagasaki Stars got a stellar effort from pitcher Koson Mitsunaga, helping Nagasaki score a win over the visiting Fukuoka Falcons, 2-1. The win belonged to Tetsushi Kondo in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Shinpo Yamasaki took the loss for Fukuoka. Nagasaki, with the win, is 2-0.
The decisive blow was delivered by Tatsuhiko Ueda in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off 25-year old right-handed pitcher Shinpo Yamasaki to win the game for Nagasaki. The home crowd went nuts.
