| Stars Bridle Falcons, 2-1 | Fans of the Nagasaki Stars who packed the stands for the home opener were rewarded with a Nagasaki win over the visiting Fukuoka Falcons, 2-1. Akimasa Murakami started for the home team against Rei Matsumura. Rei Matsumura earned accolades for his performance. Tetsushi Kondo earned the save for Nagasaki, his 1st.
Nagasaki took a 2-1 lead on Sakan Inoue's 1st double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Inoue hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Fukuoka pitcher Rei Matsumura visibly frustrated.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Inoue.
